The Online Service Center is a jumping-off point to various e-commerce web sites accessible to customers who have Digital Certificates through CenturyLink. Through these secure web sites, customers can retrieve business information or purchase CenturyLink products and services. Specific functionality available today includes on-line Centrex management tools.
The Online Service Center will assist you in setting up that secure log-in, which starts with the Digital Certificate Download Application. We will give you an overview of the applications that are available and what the benefits are to you of working with CenturyLink online. Our Frequently Asked Questions section will hopefully answer some of the important questions you may have about the process.
CenturyLink is offering a number of online applications that will make it easier to do business with us. Some of the applications only have value for specific customer sets, and we will help you determine which applications are right for you.
Online Centrex Management Options:
Centrex Traffic Data Reports - CTDR
This application provides you direct access to Centrex usage information and improves your understanding of traffic load and busy usage patterns. For more information please contact your Account Representative.
The main reason is security. The certificate enables our server to establish a secure connection to your browser. Secondly, the certificate lets us associate your browser to your record in our user database, which then identifies you to the application.
Your next question might be: "Why don't I need a certificate to have a secure connection when I submit my credit card on other sites?" To set up secure connection, a certificate must be used. In the case of credit card forms, the server uses it's own certificate. In the background, the browser and the server share the server's public key to establish encrypted communication. In our E-Commerce environment, we use both server certificates and client certificates.
While certificates do require a few more steps to gain initial access to our applications, it allows CenturyLink to safely offer customer information over the Internet.
CenturyLink knows that a readily-available Help Desk is invaluable to a quality customer experience. There will be a Help Desk available to all Digital Certificate subscribers for help with your Digital Certificate and for help with your online applications. CenturyLink will also have reference manuals available for download to assist you with the applications.
